Welcome

At The Oaks we always put the children first. We offer each child a safe, caring environment where they can thrive both socially and academically.

I am extremely proud to be the Headteacher at The Oaks Primary and Nursery School. We are a school where all staff are committed to ensuring all our children receive the best possible start in life.

Our school motto is "Roots to grow, wings to fly".  This encapsulates our nurturing ethos and belief that strong foundations enable every child to become confident independent learners, experience success and flourish as responsible citizens.

We understand that choosing the right school for your child is one of the most important decisions you will make as a parent and at The Oaks we aim to meet and exceed your expectations of what a school should offer. We know that our role in inspiring, supporting and helping your child to succeed is vital, and that is why we place a very high value on great home-school communication.

We are here to work with you so that together we can make every moment of your child’s schooling count.

We have a highly skilled team of teachers and support staff who are extremely caring and totally committed to developing and improving children’s learning, happiness and well-being. We believe that sound values and a positive attitude are crucial for our pupils to become life-long learners and responsible, valuable members of the community. Our expectations of the children are very high and we believe that every child will achieve personal growth and academic success.  We want all our children to feel safe, love school, love learning and feel proud of their own achievements.

My hope is that through this website you get a feel for our school, for the importance we place on nurturing a love of learning, for our belief that every child can and should succeed, and our commitment to ensuring every young person at The Oaks has a rich and fulfilling education. This site can only give you a glimpse of the diversity and vitality of our school, however, I urge you to visit us, meet our students and staff, and see through your own eyes what life at The Oaks is really like.
