Respect – work well with others showing good sportsmanship at all times and encourage others to do the same

Impress – be able to plan events and organise teams

Children nominate themselves, write a letter and prepare a speech.

Successful candidate is voted for by peers (in houses)

Young Governors

1 per class

  • Provide pupil voice on determined aspects of school life and contribute to the decision making process

  • Support school leadership in the monitoring and evaluating of school life

  • Liaise with own class regarding school issues and seek to consult with pupil and staff to resolve these

  • Attend all young governor meetings and take an active part in discussions

  • Accurately represent the views of peers at meetings and report back to peers on outcomes

  • Be involved in work and projects decided upon by young governors

  • Show initiative and run projects independently when required

  • Liaise with the full governing body to set actions and report on project progress

  • Take part in interviewing prospective members of staff

  • Feedback information to your class

Respect – be confident when working with others. Deliver presentations to your class, young governors and full governing body. Be able to negotiate, persuade and influence others to implement ideas

  • Support SLT in Conducting tours of the school for prospective parents, pupils and employees

Respect – show that you care for all members of our school community and are willing to help those who need support

Impress – be role models, showing other pupils how to respect the rights of children
