Pupil Voice
At The Oaks we believe that our children should be fully involved in the leadership of the school, to help with the smooth running of the school and decision making. We have groups that children can be a part of in order to have their say and make a difference.
Here are the groups your child could be involved in:
- House Captains - supporting the Senior Leadership Team in promoting the rules, values and vision of The Oaks.
- Young Governors - investigating, questioning, discussing and suggesting what is being done and what could be done to improve all aspects of life at The Oaks.
- Librarians - committed to ensuring our school has a fantastic library for our children to read in and a wide range of books to select from. They support staff in the promotion of reading across the school and keep the classroom book corners well stocked.
- Eco team - helping to make our environment a pleasant place to be. They also lead on projects to make our school more eco-friendly. Children will eductate the school on impactful environmental actions and the challenges that our environment faces.
- Ambassadors - a group of caring children who have been trained to support their peers around school. They will also support the SLT in showing visitors around the school
- S@S - making The Oaks a safer school for everyone
Our children know that they have the right to be heard in those decisions which affect them (Article 12 of the United Nations Convention on the rights of the child) and that we value all our children's contributions.
